Smile, it’s Friday! Even though it was a shorter work week I felt like it took forever. I’ve had so much going on in my mind with things that I need to do, that my mind this week just feels like it is crashing and burning! I need to make a list…that’s what I’ll do, I’ll make a list! This will be my weekend project, among other projects going on, ah!, how do I now turn making a list into a stressful project!? This is how my mind has been working this week!
You know what will help with this over active mind of mine? Yoga. I spend my Friday nights drinking my own sweat in a hot flow yoga class that includes about a 7-10 minute meditation at the end. Okay that’s gross. I mean I’m not literally drinking my sweat, but every inch of my body is soaked and too slippery to even hug myself. I love it! I feel like my Friday night hot yoga sessions help cleanse me from the week resetting my body physically and mentally.
I need to start doing more yoga – currently I am only at 1x per week. It would be amazing to do it daily but I think I’d have to do it at home. I simply can’t afford to go to a yoga class and pay for it each day, although that would be AMAZING! I also need to start cleaning my mat after each session. I know, super gross again! It’s one of those things that I never thought of. I’d throw it into my yoga bag, forget about it, and then it would sit in there until I’m running out the door to go to yoga again a week later!
I was actually embarrassed to pull out my mat last Friday and see all my dirty hand marks, so I ingrained it into my brain to clean it immediately when I got home! I mixed up my own natural yoga mat cleaner that smells amazing so now I look forward to cleaning my mat!
Here’s a simple yoga mat cleaner adapted from OhSheGlows:
empty spray bottle
1/3 cup white vinegar
1 cup water
1/2 tsp pure tea tree oil ( anti-bacterial and -fungal)
20 drops pure lavender essential oil (antibacterial, antiseptic, deodorizing)
Put all the ingredients into a spray bottle. Shake before each use.
*To clean mat – shake the yoga mat cleaner before spraying your mat. Wipe with damp towel. Let air dry
Okay, off to a full day of work at the hospital! I really can’t wait until yoga tonight!
Do you have a Friday night ritual or wind down?
