Yoga has been something that I have always enjoyed and this summer I have been going a lot more frequently thanks to the unlimited summer pass offered by Bodhi Tree Yoga, the local yoga studio I attend. The benefits of yoga are endless to me! Recently while blissing out and flowing through yoga class, I couldn’t help admire how vibrant and healthy my yoga teacher and fellow classmates looked. Have you ever noticed how yogis just seem to radiate youthfulness and their skin naturally glows? Or maybe you’ve noticed this in your own skin while engaged in yoga?
Yoga has been proven to be amazing for many things that benefit and promote a long vibrant life. Personally, yoga really helps me clear my mind to feel super refreshed. Each class I discover a sense of growth within myself mentally, within the strength in my body as well as gratification from being able to hold a pose which I’d struggled with in the past.
Not only is yoga amazing for body toning and stress-relief, but it can also help your skin radiate from within! The restorative breathing and meditative state helps decrease inflammation and stress that speeds up aging of our skin. Also, yoga’s flowing movement helps increase circulation all over our body including to our head and face!
Yoga teacher, Johnny Trinh, states that a regular practice of yoga often leads to an adoption of an overall healthier lifestyle, all which promote radiance from the inside out, “As people begin to familiarize themselves with flows and postures, and get hooked, they start to study more, practice more, go to more classes and shape their schedule around improving yoga. So they drink more water outside of class, they start to monitor what they’re eating…they get introduced to more holistic and healthy food choices. And all of these things start to impact their whole lives.”
I can definitely relate to this! After yoga I feel like continuing doing things that are good for my body. I feel more motivated to have a light balanced meal, listen to music, keep moving and let my creativity flow!
Johnny believes that yoga helps us “feel more energized/less tired, sleep better, eat better, and the very work of repetitive routine practice builds strength, toning, and also engages the skin which helps keep it taught and young looking.”
I feel like yoga is a holistic management system for my life and the beauty that reveals from regular practice is a definite bonus!
If you’re new to yoga, I suggest attending a class to have an instructor assist you into proper form to avoid hurting yourself. I also really like doing yoga at the studio because the environment and the people have a motivating and calming effect on me at the same time! I’ve tried learning yoga from books and trust me, that’s a hard thing to do. Yoga has had a very positive influence on my life in addition to radiant skin!
