Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day and I was lucky enough to be out of the office! This meant I got to spend the day being active with my pup Riah. I’m going to write a post all about Riah one day – I feel you have a lot to learn about her and she is now a major part of what makes me smile!
We took advantage of the weather and were outside most of the day starting with an early morning walk before the heat hit. Keeping with a refreshing and healthy start to the day, I made myself this amazing Acai Radiance Bowl. The fruit (including the acai) and spirulina contain antioxidants that fight off damaging free radicals in the body protecting that healthy glow from the inside out – perfect for a day spent outside in the sun’s UV rays! (along with my SPF, the antioxidants help protect my skin from UV damage that are a leading cause wrinkles and skin discolouration)
Acai Radiance Bowl
1 Acai Berry Pouch (I used Sambazon)
1/3 c unsweetened almond milk
1/2 tsp spirulina powder
1/2 c frozen mixed fruit (I used strawberries, mango and peaches)
Blend and top with sliced fruit, nuts and seeds!
After eating, frisbee, and lots of water breaks, Riah and I headed to a local park to meet with a friend and her dog for the afternoon. I had to dig out my summer clothes from boxes (we moved over the fall) – I knew my makeup artist friend would be looking fab as usual, so I got out of my workout gear for once and found this cute jumper I had. Bonus- it was also super comfy to walk in!
Walks are always interesting with Riah. She’s pretty good walking when it’s just her and I, but throw another person and a dog into the mix and Riah is bat crazy. She gets super excited, cries cuz she wants to play, and pulls (I get a good core workout just trying to manage her), but by the end of the walk she was getting better. I know I just have to be patient with her, and treat her lots when she’s doing well! Any additional tips from fellow puppy owners!?
While Riah crashed hardcore, I finished my day going to “warm” which turned into HOT yoga. I walked the 20 minutes to and 20 minutes back for an 1 1/2 yoga class- my feet hated me, but I felt so good afterwords. Actually, because of my active day yesterday, I woke up feeling great today and motivated to get some work done! I’m feeling inspired and looking forward to a collaborative meeting with another creative later today! (More on this to come!)
Is there something that really amps up your motivation! Maybe certain music, people, weather like me!? I’d love to hear about them!
Oh yah Happy Cinco de Mayo to those who celebrate!
