I’m so excited to share this! The more I work and push forward, the more doors and opportunities continue to open! This past Sunday I had the opportunity to team up with Lululemon Athletica Regina to talk to the beautiful ladies from Local Barre Fitness about feeding your natural glow with nutrition. I made up some post-workout beauty foods including these Mermaid Chia Seed Puddings perfect for promoting anti-aging, radiance and nutrients to support an active lifestyle.
Tips to Feed Your Glow:
Eat More Natural Whole Foods and Less Processed Foods (including “diet” foods) – processed foods are often packed with excess white refined sugars, sodium, preservatives, and unhealthy processed fats. Choose Quality!
Choose the Right Fats – include more healthy fats coming from plants (ex. avocado, nuts and seeds, olive oil) or fish (if not vegetarian/vegan) and less saturated animal fats.
Balance Your Carbohydrates with Proteins – avoid blood sugar spikes and keep yourself full longer by balancing your nutrients. Both carbs and proteins are important to have after your workout to replenish your muscles and energy stores. Alternatively, if you are just about to workout, having an easy digestible carb (ex. fruit, smoothie) for energy is preferred!
Eat More Plants and Increase Your Fibre – vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts/seeds, pulses… these are all packed with beauty nutrients that promote healthy aging as well as fight against disease. (Tip! Don’t eat too much fibre before your workout to avoid discomfort during your sweat).
