It’s wedding season again! Not that there aren’t any weddings in the fall or winter but spring and summer are definitely when all of my weekends are full of doing makeup for beautiful brides!
Every bride-to-be deserves to look and feel her best on her big day. While great facial cleansers, moisturizers and makeup are crucial for attaining flawless photo-ready skin, a lot of how our skin looks starts with what we put in our bodies and our daily lifestyle.
Here are 4 tips to promote healthy and youthful beauty from the inside out for your big day! (and you don’t have to be a bride to benefit from these!):
Eat more natural whole foods/Eat less processed foods
White refined grains and sugars can cause inflammation in our body leading to common skin problems and speed up signs of aging. Choose whole natural foods more often to supports health from the inside out and wedding day radiance.
Choose the Right Fats
Omega-3 and monounsaturated fats (MUFA) are essential for plump youthful skin but remember to control your portions. Get your Omega-3’s from wild salmon, trout, walnuts, flax oil, or chia seeds. Rich sources of monounsaturated fats include olive oil, sesame oil, avocadoes, and olives.
Balance your Carbs with Protein
Avoid sugar spikes that can speed up the formation of wrinkles and balance your carbs with protein. Including protein with your meals and snacks help slow down blood sugar spikes and keep you full longer. For example, Apple (carb) + Almond Butter (protein) yum!
Simple but yet so important for healthy glowing skin! Drink water, herbal and green teas and eat foods high in water content including vegetables and fruit! Check out this limeade for a great summery mocktail here!
Congratulations to all the Brides and Grooms! ♥
